TEACHING

“ My ultimate teaching objective is to create a friendly, dynamic, and inclusive learning environment that supports the diversity of students' learning styles. I strive to teach my students the substance of law and guide them to acquire the skills and knowledge that will prepare them for legal practice in the age of new and emerging legal technologies.

COURSES TAUGHT
  • Civil and Criminal Trial Advocacy
  • Civil Procedure
  • eLitigation
  • Ethical Lawyering

I adopt a teaching methodology that incorporates analytical thinking, practicality, innovation, and mentorship. Analytical thinking helps the students develop their own reasoning and perspective on the issues after thorough analysis. I also endeavor to engage my students in classroom discussions. To make this possible and beneficial, I extensively use questions in my class teachings – questions from the professor to the students and vice versa. Sometimes I give students the opportunity to volunteer answers to the questions posed (by me or their fellow students), while other times, I select students who might need encouragement to participate in class. The use of questions serves two main purposes – first, it helps stimulate the students’ thinking abilities and involves them in the discussion. Secondly, it aids me, as the professor, in gauging the students’ understanding of the course materials and clarifying any difficulties they have in comprehending the material or my lecture.

As a professor, my role is to impart knowledge to my students in the best ways possible and to make my courses as comprehensible as possible. I also believe that, in some cases, this objective could be achieved by intentionally introducing aspects of the course that are sufficiently ambiguous to compel students to resolve theoretical puzzles. My success as a professor should not solely be measured by my ability to convey theoretical reasoning to my students, but also by my capacity to help the students apply that theoretical reasoning to solving practical problems. Thus, I strive to assist my students in developing skills that will guide them in addressing not only theoretical but also real-life problems.
